The idea of AutoSQL came from a report needed by finance. Sometimes billing documents got stuck in the ERP system and they wanted to see those cases in their email. But only when there were actual cases! So instead of having them to check every day, the expected an alert when an issues occurred with the actual items in an Excel attachment.
Using ‘only when more than’ feature
To do this, you schedule your query that identifies the issues daily (or any other frequency). You also set up email, but the magic is in the email option ‘Only when more than 0 rows’:
This means the query will run on the schedule setup for it. However, if no results came back there is no email sent.
If issues are found the user will be notified and can start fixing them
